In Anson, Maine, a man bought a motorcycle and died just a couple of hours later in a crash while he was on his first ride home with his new motorcycle on May 31.
Friday morning, Barry K. Morriss (66) purchased a motorcycle and then suffered a terrible crash half a mile from Campground Road.
The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office got a report of the crash at 11:56 a.m. and after the officers have arrived at the accident spot, they found a seriously injured rider.
The Sheriff’s office says that a mixture of speed and inexperience have led to the fatal crash.
The rider was not wearing a helmet, he lost control of the bike and went straight into the shoulder of the road where he was thrown off the motorcycle into a ditch.
Morriss’ stepson was right behind him, following him in a car.
An ambulance transported the rider to Redington-Fairview General Hospital where he died later.
The case is still under investigation.
