Stronger, Louder, Meaner – Indian Motorcycle Unveils Redesigned Chieftain

Indian Motorcycle announced an updated and redesigned Chieftain lineup for 2019. The Chieftain has always won high marks for power, comfort, and handling ever since its debut in 2013.

In the 2019 lineup, the Indian Chieftain, Chieftain Dark Horse and Chieftain Limited come with a more edgy, aggressive styling that reflects the bike’s remarkable capabilities.

Fans of classic Indian design will not be disappointed  – the 2019 Indian Chieftain Classic will keep its iconic front fender and traditional fairing.

The revamped lineup is an addition to the evolution of the Chieftain which started in 2017 when the new Chieftain Limited and Chieftain Elite were introduced. The 10-spoke, 19-inch contrast-cut front and open fender got an astonishingly positive response from customers, which led to the development of the full 2019 lineup.

“As we continue to evolve the Indian Motorcycle brand, we want to expand our lineup with more aggressive style options, while still maintaining the availability of our more classic style options,” said Reid Wilson, Senior Director for Indian Motorcycle.

“What’s most important to us is developing motorcycles that meet a wide variety of customer style preferences, and Chieftain’s new look does just that.”

The fairing and saddlebags are restyled with harder edges and much sharper lines, giving the bike a more streamlined look and a dominant presence. The fairing is slimmed and paired with full LED lighting and new fork guards. New, slammed saddlebags are packed on the new Chieftain, giving it a hint of a custom-inspired look.

In addition to styling improvements, the Chieftain Dark horse is featured with many new paint options.
