The Cruise Don’t Bruise ride began 8 years ago when Eastern Ottawa Resource Centre’s program managers were looking for ways to raise money for violence prevention programs.
The non-profit organization assists victims of domestic abuse and elder abuse.
46 motorcycles attended the very 1st ride and it has grown ever since. Organizers said this Saturday’s fundraising ride set a record of 231 bikes participating.
“The weather was on our side this year,” Joanne Vermette, one of the event organizers, said for Ottawa Citizen.
