No Charges Against Motorcyclist Involved in Deadly I-5 Road-Rage Shooting

An incident that happened on February 8 on the side of I-5 south of Milton, involving a male driver and a female motorcyclist ended fatally. The driver, Bruce Jones, was shot and killed by the female motorcyclist.

The two of them have been seen pulling over with their vehicles and starting some sort of an argument. The argument started getting physical and eventually, shots were being fired.

According to witnesses, the driver got upset over the way the motorcyclist was driving her bike on I-5. They say he boxed the rider into a location she couldn’t drive away from. After he exited his vehicle, he approached the lady aggressively and a fight ensued. The driver put the motorcyclist to the ground and witnesses say she shot him when he tried to climb on top of her.

Pierce County Prosecutor Mark Lindquist said there will be no charges against the motorcyclist.

“(The motorcyclist) said she acted in self-defense and, given the evidence, the Prosecutor’s Office cannot prove otherwise,” Lindquist said in a statement, as K5 News reports.  “This is another reminder to everyone to keep a cool head on our roads,” said Lindquist. “Nothing good is going to come from physically confronting another driver.”
