Nearly 60,000 Harley-Davidson motorcycles have been recalled after discovering that a possible engine oil leak could cause the bikes to crash. 57,138 units of Harley’s 2017 touring motorcycles are affected by the defect that happened because of an improperly installed clamp in the oil cooling system.
The affected motorcycles are:
- Road King
- Road Glide
- Street Glide
- Road King Special
- Road Glide Special
- Street Glide Special
- Electra Glide Ultra Classic
- Road King Classic
Owners of these models are urged to see their dealer immediately to have the clamps inspected.
This recall is happening at an extremely inconvenient time. Harley-Davidson sales for the 1st quarter of 2017 have dropped significantly which caused their stock price to fall ever since. The touring models are the best-selling and most expensive motorcycles in the Harley-Davidson family.
