MEMPHIS, TN – Pink fire trucks and many motorcycles are going to be all over town Saturday. They won’t be heading out to put out a fire, but to help fight a terrible disease.
“Pink Heals is an organization that shows love and support of women fighting cancer,” says Larry Stone with Pink Heals Memphis. The organization uses the pink firetrucks to get attention and raise money that stays local.
Pink Heals will be teaming up with bikers for a dice run fundraiser which starts at Leatherwood Motorcycle works on Summer Avenue and ends at Bumpus Harley Davidson on Whitten Road.
“Our pink isn’t for any particular type of cancer. Our pink is for all women,” Stone said. “To support our women we do events like this, because we want our money to stay local. We want our money to stay in our community to help the people right here in our hometown.”
The national Pink Heals Tour will be coming through town for the event. There will be pink firetrucks from across the country in Memphis, according to Stone.

“It’s all about spreading love and support. We want the women to know that they are loved; that they have people behind them, people fighting with them in their fight,” Stone said.
Each of the trucks is covered in handwritten messages for women who are fighting cancer or from those who have lost their loved ones.
“Our trucks carry a message. If you look at our firetrucks, all of them are covered with signatures. All of those signatures carry stories. Those stories stay with the firetrucks for the life of that truck. They go from stop to stop. And they carry that message with them wherever they go,” Stone said.
