Victory Motorcycles Launches its Octane with Party and World Record

In one of the opening nights of Daytona Bike Week, Victory Motorcycles took over a well-known bar on a famous street but more importantly, they grabbed motorcycle headlines with a new world record.

Taking over the back bars of Main Street Station along Daytona Bike Week’s famous Main Street, Victory Motorcycles celebrated the launch of its new muscle motorcycle, the Octane. This in itself would be newsworthy and certainly notable in these early days of the 75th anniversary of Daytona Bike Week.

But the organizers of this special launch party attended by the motorcycle media and some legendary names from the two-wheeled world had a few surprises to kick the evening off.

Among the crowd were the motorcycle media, notable names from the two-wheeled world and bike builders. Arlen and Zach Ness were two such famous faces, with the latter playing a part in the evolution and final design of the new Victory Octane.

After welcoming the crowd, offering some pleasantries and describing the latest addition to the Victory’s line-up, the evenings host, Bryan Fuller from television’s Naked Speed, introduced the manufacturers official stunt team. The pair roared in on the muscle motorcycle, one spinning around to face the other allowing them to perform a dual, head to head burnout in front of the excited audience.

When the burnt rubber clouds cleared and with the performers on the stage joining Fuller, they announced they had successfully set a new world record for the Longest Burnout using the new Victory Octane, of course.

The new record was officiated and recognized by the Guinness book of World Records, which totaled 2.23 miles, beating the prior record by a whopping .23 miles.

A video was shown to the audience detailing the challenges faced by the crew who captured the record. With the news being reported pretty much as it happened, the video hasn’t been posted to Victory’s official YouTube channel yet
