Upstate Bikers Claim Distracted Drivers are the Biggest Danger

The Upstate has seen three deadly motorcycle crashes over four days. The fatal string seems to coincide with May being National Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month.

Local bikers are trying to raise awareness by sharing tips on how they keep themselves safe on the roads, and they seem to think that drivers put them in danger.

Robert Rattray, a veteran wind therapy user claims distracted drivers are the biggest threat.

“Put the cell phone down first,” Rattray said for WSPA.

Other riders urged to agree with him.

“It’s easy to glance into somebody’s window and see them texting, changing music, whatever… phone in front of them… something in front of their face and that’s nerve-racking,” Robert Hermen said.
