Those who know classic refinement and class, know The Quail Motorcycle Gathering. It stands as one of the finest congregations of rare and classic motorcycle shows in the United States. This year, the Quail Motorcycle Gathering is getting a bit of help from private collectors across the U.S. who wanted to show off their prized possessions in the featured class: Pre-1916 Motorcycles.
The Quail Motorcycle Gathering has been running for eight memorable years, and will once again take place at the pristine Quail Lodge & Golf Course. This year, the event slated for Sunday, May 14, will feature 300 more than 300 motorcycles out on the kept Quail Lodge Golf Course. Most eyes will be gathered on the featured selection, pre-1916 classics. Unarguably, this is when motorcycling came into the cultural fold; countless bikes were manufactured from brands long disbanded or in some cases, thrust into legendary status – some pieces go back as far as 1885.
There are a few standouts of that class which must be mentioned: A 1911 Thor, a 1912 Henderson 4, a 1915 Militaire 2 and a 1916 Harley-Davidson Model 17. Also on hand will be bicycles from that era as well, which aren’t entirely dissimilar from the early motorcycles you’ll see.
The Quail Motorcycle Gathering is a family friendly event, meant not just for those with the means to own and collect these rare specimens of the two-wheeled life, it’s meant for everyone and anyone who appreciates history. Specifically, American history, through the lens of the motorcycles that helped created the cultural fascination which has brought so many together for so many years. What was once only seen in magazines and books can now be seen in person at the gathering.
Live entertainment, vendors of all kinds, beverages and a dedicated kids area; The Quail Motorcycle Gathering is a celebration of not only motorcycles but life itself. Entry includes several tasty amenities, one of which is the renowned Southwestern gourmet barbecue lunch. Parking and gear valet services are available for those who are riding to the event, which we strongly encourage.
