15 Years of Jail for Driver who Swerved Into Couple on Motorcycle

A driver who intentionally swerved into a couple on a motorcycle has been jailed for 15 years.

A video showed William Sam Crum, 69, veering into Eric Sanders, who was on the bike with his girlfriend in Granbury, Texas.

The couple crashed to the ground, with Mr Sanders suffering cuts and his partner breaking her wrist.

Crum was arrested a few days after the incident in October, 2015, after a video emerged showing what had happened.

He was filmed by another motorbike rider who confronted him over the incident on the Tin Top Highway.

When he was asked why he did it Crum replied ‘I don’t care. Double yellow stripes’ in reference to being undertaken by the motorcycle he crashed into.

He had also claimed a wasp stung him and caused him to veer across the lane.
