LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) – Around 500 bikers nationwide made their way to Lake Charles Saturday to honor the life of Stevens Thomas.
Bikers traveled from as far as California to remember Thomas, who died two weeks ago after losing control on his motorcycle and striking a curb.
He was a member of Hell’s Lovers, a national motorcycle club and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
Those who attended wore black and yellow, which his widow, Kathy Lewis-Thomas says has significant meaning.
“In the honor of what he loved most, his Steelers and his motorcycle, I decided to do yellow and black,” said Lewis-Thomas.
A memorial scholarship has been set up in Thomas’ name. The scholarship will go towards students wanting to begin a career in the electrical field.
