The 2006 MotoGP world champion Nicky Hayden has died today from head injuries sustained after a horrible cycling crash in Italy five days ago.
Wednesday afternoon he was training on his bicycle near the Misano circuit in Italy when he got hit by a car, after which he was immediately taken to a hospital with multiple life-threatening injuries. He has remained in critical condition for five days and today his injuries took the worst turn, ending Nicky’s life. The Kentucky Kid was only 35 years old.
Nicky was one of the most popular and loved riders of our time. Despite his success, he was always humble, friendly and opened to the world. He loved interacting with his fans and always had time for them.
This is a terrible loss, not only for his family and friends, but for millions of fans worldwide. He will be missed terribly.
