MANSLAUGHTER: Man Gets 13 Years in Prison for Killing a Biker on the Road

A jury from Taylor County sentenced Daniel Jones to 13 years in prison for killing Robert Harrington in 2014.

It took the jury an hour and a half to come to this sentence.

Jones drove the Nissan Rogue that hit and killed Harrington who was riding a motorcycle on Interstate 20. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene.  Harrington was only 48 years old.

Harrington and Jones were roommates and lived together on Texas Avenue briefly. Other two roommates of both men testified that there was a lot of bad blood between them, thus it’s very unlikely that this was an accident, but in fact a murder.

Although a witness originally told the police he saw Harrington driving in front of Jones’ vehicle and hit the brakes, causing his own death, police officer Tyson Kropps testified he did not believe this allegation, based on Harrington’s years of training and riding motorcycles, Abilene Reporter News reports.
